"Can you fix my watch?"
While this answer is generally "Yes," we make no guarantees or estimates until we've
had a chance to inspect the watch.
If you've been told that your watch is not repairable, it's likely they aren't willing
to deal with whatever repairs your watch needs. If you've been told that parts cannot
be acquired for your watch (especially by the company if your watch is an older
model), know that we have and are able to purchase parts for virtually all watch
brands and models (this extends the time it takes to repair the watch, however).
"Why should I have you repair it, as opposed to my local jeweler?"
What many people don't know is that most chains and jewelers do not have a professional
watch repairman on staff. The watches are sent to a third party contract repairman,
or worse, they're handled by an inexperienced person and potentially damaged further.
Often times sending directly to the repair company will cost you much less than
taking it to your local jeweler. He'll send it to me and you'll pay for the services
of two companies rather than just one.
"Can you replace my crystal with a sapphire one? What do you recommend?"
It's very likely that your mineral glass crystal can be replaced with a sapphire
crystal (which is highly scratch resistant), however we offer the following advice
when choosing between the two -
Sapphire crystals are more difficult to scratch than mineral glass crystals, but
sapphire crystals are also easier to break. Sapphire crystals
in high grade watches can be up to 2.5mm - 3.0 mm thick, making them harder to break.
